We'll Help You Get Started

We are excited to have your pet stay with us! To make the pet lodging process as smooth as possible for you, here are some tips to help along the way.  Please contact us with any questions or for additional information.

  • Immunizations
    • For the protection of all our guests, we require proof of the following vaccinations in the form of veterinary records. All records must be current and/or have been performed at least 10-14 days before your stay:
      • Dogs: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella, Canine Influenza H3N8 and H3N2
      • Cats: Rabies, Distemper, Feline Leukemia
      • Distemper and Parvo titers accepted within 6 months
      • Geriatric/Health issue waivers for some vaccines can be considered with veterinary consultation
      • In replace of certain vaccinations, we do accept Titers tests for Distemper and Parvovirus.
    • All pets must be on flea and tick preventative. Pets not on flea and tick preventative will be subject to a flea check upon arrival. If evidence of fleas is found, your pet will be given treatment at the parent’s expense.
    • Veterinary records can be emailed to records@perfectpetresort.com or faxed to 410-741-1500.
  • Food and Treats
    • For our canine guests, we provide a high-quality house food called Verus at no extra charge. Verus contains chicken, brown rice and oats and is made right here in Maryland.  We recommend feeding this food if your dog does not have allergies or a sensitive stomach.
    • Please let us know if your pet has allergies so we can tailor care accordingly.
    • If your dog has allergies or a sensitive stomach we recommend that you bring food from home.  Please pre-package food into ziploc baggies or plastic containers per meal.  Include a little extra in each bag for any calories they’ll need to recoup after all the playing they’ll do in our yards!
    • For our feline guests, we recommend you bring your cat’s regular diet.  Cat food does not need to be pre-packaged.  If you prefer, we can feed our house food, Verus, a high quality pet food made here in Maryland.
    • We can accommodate wet, frozen, refrigerated, raw diets and other special meal needs with your instructions if requested. For the chef to prepare these meals, we charge $3.
    • We provide healthy treats to our guests but you are welcome to send special treats for your pet if you would like.
  • Medications
    • We can administer prescription medications and supplements.  Please bring all medications and supplements in their original containers with accurate instructions printed on the container.  We cannot accept medications and supplements packaged in food. Highly skilled, senior team members administer medications with extreme care and expertise.  Medication administration costs $3 per administration.
    • We do not administer injections.
  • Elderly Pets

We love senior cats and dogs!  When our dogs and cats age, their needs change. We customize our care to meet their changing needs.  They may need special bedding, a specific type or location of suite, extra potty breaks, special monitoring, veterinary consultation, or more.  Please discuss geriatric care when you arrange your pet’s vacation. In some cases, additional fees apply.

  • Special Needs

If your pet has specials needs for behavioral or medical reasons, please inquire.  We work to accommodate guests with specials needs to ensure their mental and physical health and overall happiness.  Please inquire so we can determine the most comfortable arrangements for your pet.  In some cases, additional fees apply.

  • Toys and Bedding
    • We provide comfortable and soft bedding for all guests. Our canine guests rest and sleep on a rasied bed with a cozy fleece blanket. Our feline guests snuggle into a plush fleece bed.  For the health of our guests, we are unable to accept owner-provided bedding.
    • We recommend that you bring a small t-shirt or towel that smells like home.
    • Feel free to bring their favorite safe toy.
    • For your pet’s safety and well being, we are unable to accept tennis balls, rawhides, pigs’ ears, greenies, or other chewables that could be a choking hazard.

Our pet care team cares for guests 365 days each year and we are fully staffed on all holidays.  For your convenience our client care team is available every day of the year with the following three exceptions in which the front desk is closed.  Hours are modified for other holidays.

    • 4th of July
    • Thanksgiving Day
    • Christmas Day
  • Socialization & Exercise
    • Our pet lodging operations and customized care revolve around socialization, exercise, interaction, and enrichment.  We conduct playtime multiple times per day for every guest.
    • Dogs should be scheduled for a daycare evaluation and orientation day prior to their first stay.  During their evaluation, we will get valuable information on your dog’s play style, personality, and needs.  This first visit gives your dog the opportunity to become familiar with our team, facility, and operations therefore, providing an acclimating experience that will reduce stress and enhance their first overnight stay.
    • Please click here to request a daycare evaluation and orientation day at Perfect Pet Resort!
    • Please let us know if your dog prefers to enjoy playtime alone.  We can accommodate him/her in their own yard for the same amount of playtime as all other guests.
    • If your pet is not spayed or neutered and is under a year old, they can continue to go out for group play. If they are a year old or older, they will go out for private playtime in our yards. If you have questions about this, please feel free to ask!
    • Cats receive solo or family playtime in our light-filled cat room with sofas, cat trees, and lots of windows for curious cats to enjoy their surroundings!
    • Daycare evaluations and orientations are not required for cat guests unless your cat has special needs.
  • Age Requirements

For your pet lodging to begin safely with us, they should be at least 18 weeks of age and must have the necessary vaccinations according to their veterinarian.  Please inquire for special puppy and kitten arrangements and services.
